Much Music’s JD Roberts evolves into John Roberts…CNN star, Piero Antinori the man who almost single-handedly re-shaped the Italian wine industry, the wine diva in fire ravaged OZ, visits from Ned Bell and Michael Allemier, Memphis Blues, Beppi Crosariol, Suede Lounge and a gaggle of California winemakers.
Park Heffelfinger and George Siu from Vancouver’s Memphis Blues come by yet again. There’s a lot of yelling and name calling and name dropping…as in wines they like. What radio used to be. www.memphisbluesbbq.com
The Wine Diva Daenna Vancouver van Mulligen gives us her last report from Australia..this time in the Yarra Valley. Where the fires were.
Once upon a time John Roberts and I worked for Much Music. He moved on to Miami and then 17 years at CBS and now American Morning on CNN. I’m in a barn in Penticton. We compare notes! www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/american.morning
Chefs Ned Bell and Michael Allemeier are old pals. Neds at Cabana Grille www.cabanagrille.com and Michael at Mission Hill Winery. www.missionhillwinery.com
They’ve worked many cities together and both ended up in Kelowna BC. They’re planning one last great dinner before Michael leaves to teach in Calgary. Great Fun.
There is no more famous name in the world of wine than Antinori. Marche Piero Antinori, the 26th generation of his Italian family, brings 17 winemakers to Vancouver for a glorious night. www.antinori.it
This man helped shape the Italian wines we drink today. He also tells of surviving the Nazi’s as an 8 year old.
The Californians are on the move. 400 wines from 120 wineries. And a 9 city tour. California wines sales increased in Canada by 11% last year. Find out why.
Wine writer for the Globe and Mail Beppi Crosariol re-visits the show. This time from Napa. Check out his wine suggestions and wonderful diction. www.theglobeandmail.com
And finally we visit Edmonton and the Suede Lounge. Jeff Kolter is the wine guy and helped create this social oasis. www.suedelounge.ca
Enjoy!
