Segment 1 & 2
We begin with a two part interview with an old pal of mine, Dan Aykroyd. We talk his life and career and then get to his wineries in Ontario. He’s just as passionate about his wines and tequila as he is about acting.

Segment 3
It’s the time of year to plant vineyards and we head for the gorgeous new Poplar Grove vineyard site overlooking Okanagan Lake and Penticton. Radio straight from the fields. Interviews with Winemaker Ian Sutherland, Viticulturist Val Tait and Owner Tony Holler.

Segment 4
Anita Stewart author of a new book, “Canada, The Food, The Recipes, The Stories,” and Executive Chef Michael Allemeier from Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill Winery, Westbank, BC, and I, exchange views on food, organics and Canada’s role in both.

Hour Two
Truly a gathering of wine and food royalty.

Segment 5
We begin at an exclusive tasting of Conche y Toro, the Chilean wine giant. Enrique Tirado, Chilean Winemaker of the Year, talks about his Don Melchor Wines, including the 97 he poured.

Segment 6
Then it’s the yearly gathering of the Primum Familiae Vini, comprised of some of the world’s most famous wine families, each sent a family member to pour. We interview Julian Rothschild, Alessia Antinori and Entienne Hugel.

Segment 7
Next comes a gathering of the best that Vancouver, BC, has to offer, the Chef’s Table Society event, which took place Monday, March 10. An opportunity for chefs and sommeliers to spend down time with the growers and artisans who help create the menus we admire. Interviews with Vikram Vij, David Hawksworth, Rob Clark, and Brent Hayman.

And, a bonus, at the end of the night, Steven Page from Bare Naked Ladies drops by.

Then, to wrap this tribal gathering up and put it in perspective is Daenna Van Mulligen, www.winediva.ca. She’ll review the wines of Don Melchor and the Familiae.
